Circa 1760-80 this antique chair is also know as a 'Drunkards' chair due to its wide seat to allow lolling ....
Produced in the North Country out of walnut which has been ebonised. This chair has the most stunning patina where the black has been rubbed off over 100's of years naturally polishing the walnut. The carvings and details and feet also have that lovely rounded feel produced by years of use.
Structurally very good and sturdy.
The seat has been re-upholstered and is ready to take a fabric of your choice. If you provide the fabric we can cover free of charge.
