18th Century Oak Sideboard
Unusually, we bought this English mid 18th Century antique sideboard or dresser from a house in Pisa, Italy !! How it ended up there I do not know. Either way it is a stunning piece. We love the geometric design on the three drawer fronts and possibly because it has stood in an Italian window and been sun bleached it is much paler than other examples - really that is what we were first drawn to.
It has had some repairs over the years but for a piece of furniture that is over 200 years old is very sturdy, with a few bumps and scrapes here and there. A few small signs of historic worm (mostly in the drawers) which we have treated to be on the safe side.
