19th Century Swedish Bench

This stunning antique bench / settle was sourced from near Stockholm in Sweden and dates back to around 1800. A classic Gustavian piece of furniture.
The original paint has been dry scraped and rubbed back producing this wonderful finish.
Although this is made from pine it is a surprisingly heavy piece. Apparently due to the cold in Sweden the pine trees can grow very slowly producing this much denser wood.
It is in very good solid condition with a few bumps and scrapes as per its age and use.
The antique linen cushions come with the sofa. The seat has an underlay on it ready for upholstery. We can arrange this to be covered if required.
