19th Century Painted French Dresser

This wonderful 19th century French painted dresser is a piece that tells its story through every layer of paint and patina.

The original painted finish has been carefully scraped back over time to reveal a rich tapestry of earlier colours beneath, creating a beautifully textured surface full of depth, character and history. The result is an authentic, timeworn appearance that simply cannot be replicated.

The upper section features four glazed doors retaining their original hand-blown glass, with the gentle ripples and distortions that are so characteristic of antique cabinetry.

A few pumps and scrapes with some restoration to strengthen the body and old signs of worm treated to be on the safe side.
