Rare Mid 19th Century Portuguese Cabinet

This piece came from Lisbon, Portugal. Its origins are hard to work out but we are thinking as it is made of so many stacked sections that it was really made so that it can easily be moved around - much like campaign furniture. Also the insides seems to dictate this as it would hold all sorts of bottles and stacks of paper securely, perhaps it was made for a doctor ?

Please look closely at the pictures as the original paintwork is very 'distressed' and fairly rough in places - all part of the look. There is no key.

224 cm h x 85.5 w x 39 d including the detailing at the top and bottom.
