These interesting threshing boards were made to be pulled by cattle on top of freshly cut wheat, in order to break up the grain from the straw.
Spanish, circa 1850 this one is very rare as it it made with one wide piece of wood rather than strips bolted together.
Lovely colour and patina to the wood and imbedded flint stones. Some old re-treated woodworm.
We love this mounted on a wall in a contemporary building as a pice of art.
