19th Century Swedish Painted Bench

A charming 19th century Swedish painted bench retaining its wonderfully authentic original surface and layers of historic paint.

Constructed in solid pine, this antique Swedish settle features turned spindle sides and a lift-up seat revealing a generous internal storage compartment. The naturally worn painted finish has aged beautifully over many decades, exposing earlier layers of colour beneath and creating the sort of patina that makes original Scandinavian furniture so desirable.

Both decorative and practical, this Swedish storage bench would work beautifully in a hallway, boot room, kitchen, garden room or country house interior. The combination of original paint, useful storage and honest wear gives it tremendous character and a timeless Gustavian feel.

In good practical condition, with a few knocks and scrapes and a few tiny signs of worm which we have treated to be on the safe side.
