3.6 m Hand Painted Fairground Arrow Sign

A large painted sign,  "Fairground this way !",  hand-finished in-house using a 1930s pine trestle table top as its base.  Just love the style of this - looks like a rocket taking off..

The design is based on an original 1920s French sign we owned previously, recreated and painted using layered techniques to achieve a convincingly timeworn surface. The finish has been built up to give depth, texture and character, with strong wear and variation across the surface.

Some signs of historic woodworm which we have re-treated to be on the safe side.

The scale of the piece makes it a strong visual statement, whether hung on a wall or used as a decorative panel within a larger space.
