Italian Painted Sideboards (Pair)

This pair of Italian sideboards dates from the mid-20th century and has been carefully refinished in Tuscany by our friend Elisa, a artisan decorative painter, using layered techniques to create a soft, aged patina.

Each piece features a repeating geometric panel design across the front, giving a strong architectural rhythm while retaining a refined, understated feel through the muted, chalky finish. The tone sits comfortably within a neutral palette — a warm, stone-like grey that works equally well in contemporary and traditional interiors.

The proportions are generous without feeling heavy, making them ideal as statement storage pieces in a living room, hallway, or bedroom. Used together, they create symmetry and impact; separately, they offer flexibility across different spaces.

The finish has been intentionally softened and worn back in places to echo age and use, giving the pair depth and character without appearing overworked.

98 cm h x 186 w x 42 d.  We could reduce the height to 88.5 cm h by removing the feet.
