Little French Blue Painted Cupboard

A wonderfully simple and honest late 19th century French painted cupboard retaining layers of beautifully aged blue paint and completely untouched rustic character throughout.

Over many decades the surface has developed a remarkable depth and texture, with multiple layers of soft blue paint gradually wearing through to reveal earlier finishes beneath. The result is a beautifully timeworn surface full of warmth, history and understated charm.

Its simple proportions and faded painted finish give it a wonderfully relaxed feel that works beautifully within contemporary country interiors, rustic spaces, Mediterranean-inspired homes or softer minimalist settings where aged natural materials are layered together.

There are historic signs of old woodworm to the top, typical of provincial country furniture of this age, which have been professionally treated as a precautionary measure.  A few bumps and scrapes but generally in good everyday practical condition.
