French Pine Draper’s Table

A characterful French pine draper’s table dating from the turn of the 20th century, sourced from a former tailor’s and cloth merchant’s shop in Annecy, close to the French Alps.

Constructed in solid pine, the table retains the honest marks of a long working life, with decades of scrapes, knocks and wear to the surface that give it wonderful depth and authenticity. The simple, functional design is elevated by the charming shaped corner brackets beneath the top and lower shelf, adding a subtle decorative detail without detracting from its practical origins.

Good sturdy condition with a few tiny signs of worm which we have treated to be on the safe side.  The top has been seal with a matt lacquer.

The generous proportions and useful lower shelf make it an exceptionally versatile piece, equally suited to use as a kitchen island, large console table, retail display table or centre table in a living space.

A beautifully uncomplicated piece of antique French furniture with excellent colour, strong craftsmanship and masses of character.  Circa 1900.
