Early 20th Century French Leather Top Table

An exceptionally authentic early 20th century French leather top table originating from the Vichy region of central France, with beautiful age, patina and untouched character throughout.

This wonderfully atmospheric piece has a strong rustic provincial presence, retaining its original leather top with richly aged surface wear and hand-applied studded detailing around the perimeter. The faded painted timber base has developed layers of natural wear and texture over decades of use, giving the table an honesty and warmth that is increasingly difficult to find.

Although rooted in traditional provincial French craftsmanship, the table carries subtle Art Deco influence within its bold linear form and studded detailing, creating a look that feels both timeless and quietly architectural.

Pieces of this nature were often used within cafés, hotels and large country houses throughout central France, and this example has a particularly soulful and decorative quality. The proportions make it highly versatile — equally suited as a console table, serving table or centre table within relaxed country interiors, Mediterranean spaces or more contemporary minimalist settings where aged natural materials are layered together.

A rare and highly decorative French table with exceptional authenticity and beautifully timeworn surfaces - in good sturdy condition.
